Last weekend I had the chance to make a trip to La Cygne Lake, the local power plant lake. It will certainly be a trip that I will never forget. With anticipation to run our Smithville Marine/ Stratos 201 Pro XL for the first time we made our way to the lake. Once we got to the ramp we launched our boat and began to fish in hope that we might be able to catch a few. Each trip that we make to La Cygne my dad assures me that there is always a chance at a fish of a lifetime, and today he was right.

2009 Grand Lake Pre-fish For the BFL

Pre-Fishing for this tournament proved to be more than a relaxing day on the lake. This past weekend I had a chance to go down to Grand Lake Oklahoma to pre-fish for the BFL with my dad. Friday morning we dropped the Smithville Marine, Stratos 294 Pro XL in the lake. It was a nice morning with a slight ripple on the surface. The air was crisp and the water temperature was just about perfect, in the low 50’s. I was pumped up to get on the lake because of the past experiences I have had there. I have always seemed to catch fish there no matter what time of year. Throughout the day we were alternating between a custom colored Storm Wiggle Wart and a Spro McStick.
